Prima Princessa Sleeping Beauty shines during WGVU PBS May sweeps

Prima Princessa just got fabulous news from WGVU. "Prima Princessa Present Sleepng Beauty" aired on WGVU mulitple times during their May sweeps period and  was WGVU's #3 rated program for children 2-5 and #6 rated program for children 6-11 during its May sweeps period.

WGVU is the 38th largest broadcast market in the United States, reaching over 2.4 million television viewers in 28 counties from Grand Rapids to the Lakeshore, MI. 

WGVU will be airing "Prima Princessa Presents Sleeping Beauty" over Labor Day weekend: Sunday, September 4 @ 8:00 am and Monday, September 5 @ noon.

Tucson discovers Prima Princessa!

We were thrilled to receive this encouraging email from a mom in Tuscon who just watched 'Prima Princessa Presents The Nutcracker" on PBS with her young daughter.

"Mary Kate and Stephanie, I wanted to let you know how delighted I was to see the new video on our local PBS, and the website and the exciting things offered there!  About two years ago, I found the original Swan Lake DVD on Amazon and ordered it for my daughter's birthday.  She loved it!  But when I tried to find more videos from Prima Princessa, or any more information about it on the web, I came up empty.  I just assumed it had been a one-time project and I never looked again to see if there was new information.  Then, yesterday our local PBS Kids station was playing what sounded to me from the other room like a similar format to the Swan Lake DVD but the music was Nutcracker.  I walked into the other room and put on the guide and sure enough....  I went to the web and found the new site and I was so happy! Congratulations on continuing a much-needed and welcome, well-made product!  We look forward to seeing more of the most beloved ballets in the future."

Local Ballet DVD Goes National

My kids dig the Prima Princessaballet DVDs for children. I think they’re cool because two Montclair moms produced the videos–with local kids taking center stage (see ballerinas at left). In the DVDs, preschool children go on magical journeys of dance from a child’s viewpoint. Even my little boy pirouettes when he watches Prima Princessa.

The two DVDs, Swan Lake andThe Nutcracker, were only available online and at select stores last year. But this year, Prima Princessa Presents The Nutcracker is being broadcast nationally on public television. Catch the 40-minute video on:

NJN1, Monday, Decmeber 20th at 5 p.m.

The moms behind it all, Mary Kate Mellow and Stephanie Troeller, are thrilled. They spiffed up their website to celebrate. They added videos like Christmas Freeze Dancing,interactive learning games and coloring pages. It’s pretty cool for an idea that was conceived during a playdate and implemented right here in our ‘hood. Mellow and Troeller plan to add Sleeping Beauty to their series next spring.
