I make this brisket all the time around the holidays and it is always an across the board hit with all ages. It is great with kids because it is easy for them to cut up with just their fork. Because you make it the night before and then simply reheat- it is really easy main course for a busy holiday meal. Enjoy!
Holiday Beef Brisket Recipe
Ingredients: 1 3 lb Brisket, 1 Package Dried Onion Soup Mix (I use Lipton) Worcester Sauce
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large pan (I use a pyrex or ceramic rectangular pan with deep edges) lay a big piece of foil. Douse with Worcester sauce. Lay meat on top with fat side up. Sprinkle with most of soup mix. Douse with some more Worcester Sauce. Seal foil tightly together on top so meat is in a little pouch. You don't want any sealed sides to below the top of the meat or the sauce can drip out. Bake for 3 hours. Let cool and then refrigerate.
Next day skim the fat off and then slice against the grain. Lay slices in pan. You can dilute the sauce as needed a bit with water. Reheat for about 30 minutes at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes.
This is an easy recipe for kids to help. They can lay out foil, help spinkle soup mix, douse Worcester sauce, set timer! Have fun!
